Williamsburg Economic Development Authority Picks Winners and Losers

  • How this affects you: The Williamsburg EDA has chosen Hohl to receive taxpayer funds to renovate the exterior of their business.  Does this sound fair to you?   • Incentive Awarded: Williamsburg Economic Development Authority granted a revenue-sharing incentive to Hohl Group for a new bakery, coffee roastery, and restaurant.
  • Location: New establishment at 1012 Richmond Road, near Midtown Row, marking HohlGroup’s third location in Greater Williamsburg.  Hohl offers fresh baked goods, ready-to-go items, limited breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu daily, dinner service on select evenings, catering services, and bread-baking/coffee-brewing classes.
  • EDA Statement: EDA chair Adria Vanhoozier emphasized the incentive supports high-quality local businesses, boosts tax revenue, and enhances economic vitality.
  • Incentive Details: Capped at $40,000 or five years, whichever comes first; refunds 25% of sales and meals taxes quarterly for exterior building improvements.
